Hello Tumblr I’m back with a photo from my shoot with Michelle Favila. With permission from the librarians me and Michelle took a few photos at the local Library. To not disturb anyone I decided to shoot with natural light, high ISO and a wide aperture in Manual mode. I have improve my photography skills a lot since 2007. I tried to do a photo like this in 2008 and failed.

17 THINGS I WISH I KNEW ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY WHEN I STARTED

Model: MIchelle Favilla Photographer: Renaldo Creative www.renaldocreative.com

Good Morning everyone

I decided to make a list of things I wish I knew when I started photography.

Feel free to share, like and comment.

  1. It’s a expensive hobby or trade. Try to avoid getting into debt.

  2. Start off with a less expensive camera and spend more money on your lens.

  3. Purchase insurance for your gear.

  4. Expensive camera does not make a great photographer. Like Jordan’s does not make a great Basketball players.

  5. Purchase insurance for your gear.

  6. Learn your Camera inside and out. Read every page of your Camera manual.

  7. Learn how to move to Manual mode and get out of auto.

  8. Learn ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture.

  9. Get it right in the camera and use Gimp, Corel Paintshop and Adobe Photoshop less. Slow down and think about your composition, location and subject.

  10. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Make mistakes and learn from them. The pros make mistakes but they don’t show it.

  11. Purchase a External Hard drive to backup your photos. In 2007 I lost all of my photos when my Computer Hard Drive died.

  12. Find a mentor and don’t expect then to teach you everything.

  13. Try to shoot something every week

  14. Don’t expect everyone to like your work. I use to try to take photos for everyone.

  15. Look at people work that inspire you

  16. Avoid adding big ugly watermark and vignette to every photos.

  17. Always keep learning

SAFETY Discuss bringing an Escort to the Photo Shoot with your Photographer or Avoid bringing escort to your Photo Shoot. When models bring a escort I normally put the escort to work. Only work with photographer you trust. Ask for reference or testimonies. Escorts can get in the way and destroy the photo shoot. Also don’t assume that a female Photographer is safer to work with than a male Photographer. Ask for reference or testimonies from female photographer. Male photographer got a bad rep from GWC Guy with Cameras. Normally fake photographer that don’t care about Photography. Call the photographer before the shoot or meet in person. Keep in touch with the photographer and a family member. Until you get home safe.

INFO FOR MODELS FROM MONIE LOVE: Lookout for scheme and scams.
